Steve and I love to do crazy things. One of them is jumping off the sides of cliffs backwards. You can call me crazy but it is so much fun. My first time however was a different story. It took some getting use to and alot of Steve coaching me along the way. It is amazing what you can do if you tell yourself you can. In any aspect of life whether
jumping backwards off the side of a cliff or going to school. There are so many things that are hard to do but you end up falling in love with them once you get the hang of it.
That happened to me and rappelling. The last time we went was on September 15 my mom's birthday, it was Steve's last day of his leave. So we promised Kiki that we would take her so we all piled in our trucks and cars and went to Red Cliffs. Besides the fact that we got eaten alive by mosquitoes it was the best way to end Steve's week and a half leave.
Christian also came and it was his first time down the mountain. If you know him you know that his biggest fear is heights. He was so scared, I mean your life in dangling on a piece of rope, but Christian didn't let them get in his way. Steve guided him the whole way down. I was so proud of Christian to watch him go down and put his trust in a man below him, the balayer, was amazing. I would relate that also to how we put our trust in the lord at times when we are most frighted and scared. There have been so many times in my life when I have had this feeling. It is when I put my trust in the Lord, or the rope in this case, that we can over comeour worst fears.
