I am new at this hole blogging thing so I will play catch up. July of '07 Steve and I went to Washington Dc. We had so much fun looking at all the sites. This picture is in front of the Korean War Memorial. There was a great spirit there on the grounds of all the memorials. Something that I can't quite put into words. Just to know that there are so many men and women who are willing to die for our country. On the wall behind us it read "Freedom is Not Free."
I guess it really hit home just because Steve was going to be leaving for Iraq. This trip really made me realize what a great country we live in. That so many are willing to sacrifice so much and expect nothing in return. I only wish that I myself had that kind of courage.
This was actually on the 4Th of July and we got to watch the fireworks that night it was amazing to be in the nations capitol on that night.
